Disclaimer: Aaron made them. I/we just borrow them to play with every once in a while.
Author's Note: I went through about three different song titles while writing this. It started out as "Shower the People," then about halfway through it switched to "Up on the Roof." I even toyed with switching it to "Fire and Rain" or "Walking Man." But I like how it ended up. Also: *whew* made it before the new topic was posted. :-)
It was important that nothing change after Rosslyn. I was still the President. And it was still crucial to me that I be able to go out and meet my people without being separated from them. Ron had argued, of course; that was his job. And there were certain things that he could overrule me on, but not this. We Bartlets have a wicked stubborn streak when we want to. Only Mrs. Landingham said nothing, just stood there and smiled.
But every time I went out, my eyes sought out every window, and I felt that momentary pang of fear.
